The VMware bundle x64 for version 10 (Yes, I know its old) Doesn’t run out of the box on kernel versions 3.19. It installs but it cannot build some of the drivers, due to an interface change in the kernel. So you'll have to patch these driver files. I have a tarball with the patch, if you don't want to apply them on your own.
